The Best in Contact Lens Technology
With advancements in contact lens materials, there’s an ever increasing number of options for those with short-sightedness, long-sightedness and astigmatism. Do you wear reading glasses or multifocals? There’s now a number of options for multifocal contact lenses as well.
If you’ve been told previously that you weren’t a good candidate for contact lenses, you may be surprised to learn that there might now be an option for you.
In addition to this, and thanks to modern corneal mapping technology, our optometrists are able to fit contact lenses for people with keratoconus or post corneal graft surgery. Keratoconus is a progressive condition which causes thinning and distortion of the cornea and a decline in vision with spectacles. At this point our optometrists can fit rigid gas permeable (RGP) contacts which provide an artificial corneal surface eliminating the distortion caused by keratoconus.
What about orthokeratology? If you’re short sighted, you may be eligible for this non-surgical alternative to glasses. Orthokeratology involves wearing specially designed contact lenses while you sleep. These contact lenses gently reshape the curvature of your cornea with the result being clear vision without glasses during the day.
